Continuing Professional Development

for health and social care professionals working with people who have

Neurological Conditions

Important announcement

Due to retirement or pending retirement of everyone who has been involved with NeuroEducation the 24 year old project will be closing.  We’ve had a good time, albeit challenging on many occasions.

We were hoping and once did have a plan in place for continuity of all our University accredited courses post our retirements.  However, the UK’s coalition government (2010-2015) completely ruined this when trebling the cost of in-service courses and postgraduate qualifications for health, social and voluntary care staff.  This one policy change ruined 16 years of hard work, but more importantly removed the chance for caring professionals to study accredited courses that covered individual neurological conditions.   The new financial figures for employers, Universities and individuals simply did not add up anymore.

Nevertheless, we can look back with positivity at all the improvements in care we helped with and most importantly the enthusiasm we promoted in some people to pursue a career in neurology.

Up until the end of 2017 we will still be publishing both ‘Paediatric Epilepsy’ and ‘Epilepsy Care’, the latter in conjunction with the Epilepsy Nurses Association.  All the free back copies of both journals are available on the links below.  Hopefully, they provide an excellent insight into the modern management of the epilepsies.

To access both journals you will need a separate password for each.  These are available in the journals’ pdfs you or your colleagues may already have.  If this is not the case you can get them by emailing: info@neuroeducation.org.uk  You must include your name and details of your job in your email.  Your email should preferably be sent from your employers email address, e.g. @nhs.net, etc.  If, for any reason, we are not sure you work in a relevant post we will not send the passwords; sorry.
